What we’re doing about COVID-19
Whale’s Tale Waterpark is monitoring the situation surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and its potential impact on the upcoming summer of 2020. In this unsettled time, our number one priority continues to be the safety and well being of our staff, customers, and the local community. We are providing this statement in advance of our normal operating season to let our valued customers, staff, group leaders and vendors know that we have initiated all guidance received from the CDC, along with other common-sense modifications to keep everyone safe.
According to the CDC: “There is no evidence that COVID-19 can spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19.”
Our facility uses state-of-the-art, automated, sanitation systems to ensure the safety of our pools. These systems are then backed up by manual checks to ensure accuracy and safety. While most of the guidance provided surrounds drinking water, the chemicals used to clean that water are very similar to those used to sanitize pool water. The primary difference being that pools operate with significantly higher chemical levels. We find this encouraging news and it is providing great optimism on the operational safety of our business, particularly as it applies to COVID-19.
As we begin to prepare our facilities for the coming summer, we would like to reassure you that we have taken additional precautions to keep our operation safe and clean. We are using this as an opportunity to review all sanitation and cleanliness practices and have discovered and implemented new ways to keep all of us safe and have added them to our daily efforts.
We enthusiastically anticipate getting through this global crisis and are, for now, moving forward with plans to open this summer. Like all other businesses, customer support is critical, and we hope this note enhances consumer confidence in the services we provide.
