Job Overview

This position has a flexible schedule and can be coordinated into project work part-time work or full-time work depending on the availability of the successful candidate.  This, therefore, makes this a perfect job for a college student looking to apply learned skills in a practical application providing valuable work experience.   The IT Assistant is a new position within the company to provide assistance to the CIO in supporting the IT needs for daily operations, and IT related project work for the Whale’s Tale Waterpark, Candia Springs and Alpine Adventures.  This responsibilities of this new role may include but not limited to the following:

  • Web Development (Word Press / Tickera)
  • Design/support custom solutions (Access / Sharepoint)
  • Software and hardware troubleshooting
  • System backups
  • Equipment monitoring
  • Equipment deployment
  • Software installation
  • Software training
  • Wireless & wired network maintenance
  • Other responsibilities to be added as they evolve

Ideally, during the 6 month summer season (May 1 – Oct 31), this position would work full time and travel to Candia, Whale’s Tale and Alpine to support day-to-day operations needed.  Office space could be established at one location as appropriate.  For the 6 month winter season, this position would be part-time, on-demand, based upon the project needs for the three companies as defined by the CIO.  Projects may include software design/implementation or hardware upgrades/installations.

Because this position would have access to sensitive company and employee information, it is expected that the individual in this position never discuss work-related issues, concerns or use information maliciously or for personal gain.  The highest degree of integrity and trust is required.

Duties and responsibilities

The IT Assistant will have strong IT hardware and/or software skills, the willingness to learn new things, and the ability to help staff with computer/software related problem resolution.  Dependent upon the specific hardware/software skill set of the assistant other duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Exemplify our company core values
  • Assisting with the setup and maintenance of computers and networking equipment
  • Assisting in creating/maintaining online stores and websites
  • Assisting with configuration/maintenance of the phone system
  • Assisting with staff training for software and hardware usage
  • Assist with phone support for software and hardware related issues
  • Assist with the updating business tools like the customer database, employee database, application forms, budgets, and more for the new fiscal year
  • Team player willing to lend a hand as needed throughout the company in many capacities
  • Flexible schedule to ensure a consistent operation
